How to care for your pieces.
Most WarmyNest pieces ask very little. A damp cloth, a dry one, and a light hand. Below is the short version, then care by material.
Every day
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
- Dry off with a clean cloth — standing water is the main thing to avoid.
- Skip harsh acids, bleach and abrasive scrubbers. They outlast the dirt and shorten the life of a finish.
Ceramic
- Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth; dry to avoid water marks.
- For soap residue or limescale, use warm water with a few drops of dish soap.
- On matte finishes, avoid abrasive pads and scouring powders — they leave fine scratches.
- For a toilet brush holder: empty weekly, rinse the inside with warm soapy water, and wipe the exterior.
Resin
- Wipe with a damp cloth; no sealing needed.
- It won't absorb water, so it handles wet bathrooms well.
- Keep it out of prolonged direct sun and away from very hot surfaces.
- Avoid solvent-based cleaners — mild dish soap is all it needs.
Cement & Terrazzo
- Wipe with a damp cloth and dry; don't leave it sitting in water.
- Reseal periodically — once or twice a year for bathroom pieces — to maintain water resistance.
- Use a coaster or felt pad under dispensers to prevent water rings.
- Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus); they can etch the surface.
Ottomans & fabric
- Vacuum gently or brush with a soft brush to lift dust and keep the pile even.
- Velvet: wipe in the direction of the pile. Boucle: lift loops, don’t pull or cut a snag. Chenille: brush lightly to settle the surface. Sherpa: ruffle the fibres back up after use.
- Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth — don’t rub.
- For marks, use a mild fabric cleaner and spot clean; test in a hidden area first. Do not machine wash.
- Wipe the wooden tray and timber legs with a dry cloth. Don’t soak them. Wipe a gold iron base dry as well.
- Keep the inside storage dry, and don’t overload it.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sun to protect the colour.
Treated this simply, a WarmyNest piece is made to last years, not seasons.
