Napkins on a table do not stay in a pile. One gets taken, the rest fan out across the wood, and a breeze off the back door puts the top of the stack in the garden.

This one holds them down. The napkins lie flat in a bamboo tray 19cm square, and a coated metal arm rests across the top of the stack. Take one from under it and the arm settles onto the next.

The bamboo is its own colour with the grain showing through, and the black arm is the only other colour on it. Nothing to assemble and nothing to fix down. It sits in the WarmyNest Homewares range alongside the bamboo side table.

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry it straight away. Keep it out of standing water and wipe spills off the bamboo promptly so the surface stays even. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

What size napkins does it take?

The WarmyNest bamboo napkin and serviette holder measures 19 x 19 x 9cm and holds napkins lying flat rather than standing on edge. Measure your napkins folded and allow for the thickness of the bamboo walls, since 19cm is the outside of the tray.

What stops the napkins blowing about?

A coated metal arm pivots at the back wall and lies across the top of the stack. Its weight holds the napkins flat, and as the pile goes down the arm follows it. You take one from underneath rather than lifting anything off.

What is it made of?

The body is bamboo in its natural colour with the grain showing, and the arm is coated metal in black. Wipe the bamboo with a soft damp cloth, dry it straight away, and keep it out of standing water.

Does it need assembling, and where does it go?

No assembly. It arrives in one piece and stands on its own, so it moves between the dining table and the kitchen bench without being fixed to anything. At 19cm square it takes up about the footprint of a side plate.
