Sourced from sinomeasure. A tape measure needs two hands and, past a certain length, a second person. This one needs a thumb.

The M4 reads up to 40 metres to within 2 mm, in about a second. Point it at the far wall, press once, and the number is on the screen before you would have finished walking the tape back. It weighs 35 grams and is 100 mm long, so it sits in a pocket or a kitchen drawer rather than a toolbox.

SafetyClass II laser. Do not look into the beam or point it towards anyone’s eyes, and keep it away from children.

Two modes. Single for one distance, continuous for a live reading as you move. Units switch between metres, feet and inches, and the reference point flips between the front and the back edge of the body, so you can measure from the wall behind you or from the tip in your hand.

The screen is a backlit LED, which is the difference between a reading you can take under a house and one you have to guess at. The body is rated IP54 against dust and splashes. It charges over USB-C, so there is no coin cell to keep spare.

Care Instructions

Wipe the screen and the two windows at the top with a dry cloth. Dust on the emitter or the receiver will slow a reading before it stops one. Charge over USB-C. Rated IP54 for dust and splashes, not for immersion.
